New Driver Requirements

1. Mandatory Uber/Lyft Decals
Display Uber or Lyft decals on both the front and rear of your vehicle.

2. Dash Cam Requirement
Installing a dash cam is essential to protect yourself against false accusations.
A three-way dash cam can also provide coverage in case of accidents.

3. Commercial Decal Requirement (Vancouver)
In Vancouver, a commercial decal is required to park or drop off customers at designated points. Without this decal, you may receive an $80 fine. Be aware that bylaw officers may issue tickets even if you have the decal. The decal costs $27 annually.
4. Drivers must have car seats for infants and booster seats for children.

A booster seat is required until the child reaches a minimum of 40 pounds (18 kg), 9 years of age, or 4 feet 9 inches (145 cm) in height. Non-compliance can result in vehicle impoundment by the police.

4. Restrictions on Bus Stops
Uber drivers are prohibited from driving in bus lanes and picking up or dropping off passengers at bus stops.
5. Document and Notification Updates.

Regularly check for notifications on police records and insurance updates. Ensure that all required documentation is updated at least 15 days before expiration to avoid reactivation delays due to documentation requirements.
